New Citizens of the Commonwealth Pageant Audience. 1923. B&W print photo, 8"x10", taken at the (also filmed) Citizenship Day pageant sometime after the procession reached the Hall of Philosophy, and proceeded on with the Oath of Allegiance. Liberty, Opportunity, and Justice stand behind the magistrate and a line of young girls sit in front of the podium. On the right side of the photograph, audience members (?) look on, many carrying American flags. Pageant directed by Percy J. Burrell and H. A. Smith. |
