"The Ark" and Group--At Fairpoint. c.1876. Stereo View on 7"x4" card frame, showing the "Ark" which was a dormitory for ministers and instructors, sometimes referred to as "overflow" from lodging space at the Athenaeum. A cabin on the second floor is adorned with British and American flags. Notation identifies five individuals among the standing group, among them James S. Ostrander, dressed in Orientalist costume. Notation on back: 3./ The Ark in its original place beside the lake. Afterward, moved up on avenue beside Normal Hall (Scott Ave?)./ In Oriental Costume, J.S.
