The building later became the Lodge (residence hall for summer school faculty) and then the Carnahan Jackson Dance Studio. Note that the postcard is incorrectly labeled "Arts and Crafts Building." Date of Stamp and Postmark: Nov. 14, 1919. The Message: Private A. Brightman General Hospital Fort McHenry Maryland Ward 34 Good morning to you this bright, cold morning. Only 15 degrees. Florence H. has been down and she says her father is no better. They are going to send him to ? for he is a lot off? ? is the best thing to do I am sure. She telephoned to the Dr. for him to come after her father. He said he would come tomorrow. The wind blows hard but the sun shines. ? has to go to Dentist this P.M. I don't envy her trip any over these rough roads. Lots of love, Allerese |
