Chautauqua Crew. 1914? B&W print photo, 4½ x 7", in cardboard frame, showing five members of the Chautauqua rowing team. The Athletic Club building is visible on the extreme right. Notes on the back incorrectly label one individual as Theodore Miller. Notation on back: Chautauqua Crew. 1914. "Theodore Miller, son of Lewis Miller on the rowing crew at Yale. He introduced the sport at Chautauqua. He had several crews rowing in the old six-oared barges which had been bought from the Yale navy. He coached crews of young men and young women"- Theodore Westmood Miller, Rough Rider, by George Vincent. N2 Mt. Theodore is the tall young man in the group. |
