Halaby's Oriental Bazaar. c. 1980. Color postcard, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2" showing many Chautauquans coming and going along Miller and Clark and Halaby's Oriental Bazaar. The building was erected in 1889 to house the Chautauqua Assembly Herald and from 1900-1911 came to be used as the Administration Building. It became Halaby's Oriental Bazaar in 1911. Carl Burquardt, known for riding an old-fashioned bicycle, appears towards the left. Ann M. Smith, photographer. |
