Description |
Decorative Coffee Server. c. 1870. Metal, 18" height, 8" diameter, with short legs and a hinged lid. Decorated with Arts and Crafts style carving -- featuring animals and human heads. Made with triple-plate [pewter?] with silver exterior. Tarnished appearance and discolouring in the interior. Spout has a prominent ram's head underneath. A large engraving on the side indicates 'Hurlbut memorial from Class 1887'. The underside has the engraving 'Simpson Hall Miller Company/ 18'. |
