Description |
Decorative Tea Urn. c. 1870. Metal/Wood, 18½" height, 8" diameter, with short legs and a removable lid. Decorated with Arts and Crafts style botanical carving -- the legs are shaped to look like branches. A band around the neck is detailed with flowers and bird motifs. Made with triple-plate [pewter?] with silver exterior. Tarnished appearance and discolouring on the interior. Spout valve has wooden handles, with inscription: 'Hayden's Patent/ Jan'y 26 1869'. The base of the Urn features 'Middleton Plate Co./ Triple Plate/ 16/ 201.' |
