Description |
This item is a very early model of the Chautauqua Desk created by the Powers brothers. This item remains in good condition. Behind the folding desk, maps for the years 1892,1893, and 1894 are present, giving some indication of when the desk itself was made. The learning scroll is still in adequate condition and it seems that all moving parts and joints are still in adequate condition as well. The material covering the back of the desk is damaged and torn, however these damages only superficially affected the desk's condition. This item was a gift to the Oliver Archives Center. |
