Description |
Silver Ice Water Pitcher. After 1854. Used by Vincent family. Item is a large pitcher with a bear on top of the handle for the lid to rest on. Ornate designs are found on the sides and on the spout. A mark on the bottom seems to have been stamped over by another silver maker. There is a round stamp off to the side of a mark right on the bottom. Gift of Hurlbut Memorial Community Church of Chautauqua. After 1854. Markings: Patented by JAs. Stimpson/1854/No__________/Rogers Smith & Co/New Haven/Conn./For/Seven Years/Made by M. B.
